Program Manager, Stroke

The Stroke Program is responsible for supervising and managing the daily operations of the program, Mission Life Line and ACC Data collection. This position directs the clinical and non- clinical staff involved in the coordination and delivery of nursing care to AMI/STEMI/NSTEMI /PCI patients. In addition, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the administration of the program including budget preparation, data maintenance, and monitoring the regulatory and quality compliance as it relates to the regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

* Coordinates AMI to Good Samaritan Hospital and provides information to patient, patient's family, health care providers, community groups and schools to facilitate education and awareness.

* Oversees and participates in community health screenings and outreach activities.

* Acts as a liaison with NCDR/ACC/Mission Lifeline in facilitating continued program development.

* Supervises the Cardiovascular Clinical Data Registry Specialist and maintains the data integrity for reporting and database systems.

* Reviews and extracts data from medical records, prepares and submits reports, reviews data input, and conducts error analysis for facilitates requiring corrections.

* Prepares departmental budget, monitors targets, and makes adjustments as necessary.

* Prepares and submits expenditure requisitions.

* Directs and coordinates service delivery within assigned units.

* Collaborates with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, physicians and members of the health care team to plan, organize and deliver identified services to achieve desirable patient service and care outcomes.

* Supervises preparation and ongoing readiness for certification visits by accredited or regulatory organizations.

* Maintains up to date management policies and objectives for areas of responsibility.

* Recommends and implements required changes to processes and procedures to improve delivery of care.

* Participates in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for cardiovascular services.

* Oversees and monitors employee evaluations and deadlines.

* Maintains patient service records for internal committee review and external use by affiliated health service organizations.

* Develops, conducts, and assesses employee's clinical competencies and patient safety-training needs.

* Reviews methodologies, processes and equipment to make recommendations for changes and adjustments.

* Effectively uses automated systems to perform work assignments.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience in emergency medicine, critical care, cardiology, neurology, or Cath Lab.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. BSN required. MSN or MBA preferred.

Licenses / Certifications: Current New York State RN licensure required and ACLS/BLS Certifications.
