<div data-field="description" class="jd-description">Description<div style="display: inline;">The Lead Child Development Center Teacher 2 (Lead Teacher 2), under the supervision of the Child Development Center Manager, is responsible for planning and implementing individualized programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Key duties include creating lesson plans, conducting child development programs, and holding parent conferences. The role may involve working in various classroom settings, including mobile classrooms. The Lead Teacher 2 guides curriculum development ensures compliance with Title 22 State Licensing, Title 5 Program Standards, and NAEYC Accreditation, and conducts children's assessments using DRDP and other tools. The position requires maintaining a safe, healthy environment and collaborating with parents and staff to coordinate childcare programs. In emergencies, the Lead Teacher 2 will provide first aid as needed. This position in 100% in person, providing direct services to children. Job location may vary within cities in the San Fernando Valley based on Center locations.This is a limited position that may convert to career.Salary Range: $28.60 - $49.13 Hourly</div></div><div data-field="qualifications" class="jd-qualifications">Qualifications<div style="display: inline;">Required: <ul><li>Minimum of a child development teacher permit or A.A. degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or related field, or equivalent coursework (12 units) in Child Development or Early Childhood Education and apply for permit within 6 months of hire. Permits must be issued by Child Development Permits issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.</li><li>Pre-employment physical exam and TB clearance. Pre-employment physical exam must state that the individual is physically able to perform the duties in the Job Description.</li><li>Fingerprint screening, criminal record, and child abuse index clearance, sex offender registry check.</li><li>All Early Head Start staff must complete background checks at least every five years that includes, sex offender registry check, State or FBI criminal history check, including fingerprint check, child abuse and neglect state registry check if available in the state of California.</li><li>Valid California Driver’s license and available transportation.</li><li>Demonstrate competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions,</li><li>Ability to plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment</li><li>Knowledge of child development theory and practices.</li><li>Promote children’s progress across the standards described in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five and applicable state early learning and development standards, including for children with disabilities and dual language learners, as appropriate. Units:</li><li>Experience working with infants/toddlers and their families</li><li>Skills in using computer-pc, Microsoft word, excel, and must type at least 30 words per minute.</li><li>Completion and submission of required personnel forms prior to employment.</li><li>Ability to respectfully communicate effectively with families, Head Start staff, consultants, other professionals, and volunteers to support families in locating and accessing appropriate community services, as needed.</li><li>Ability to provide education and training opportunities to families that promote positive relationship-building for all enrolled pregnant women and infants and toddlers and their families. Ability to follow directions given by supervisor(s) in a respectful manner.</li><li>Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.</li><li>Ability to carry children, up to 40 pounds during each workday when necessary.</li><li>Ability to engage in frequent bending, reaching, twisting and engage in moderate to frequent kneeling, crawling, and stooping while performing classroom activities.</li><li>Ability to engage in frequent writing, typing on keyboards, and handling small objects (e.g. arts and crafts for children).</li><li>Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time that may exceed an hour at a time. This includes sitting on the floor for extended periods (e.g. while engaging in child development activities during home visits and socialization sessions).</li><li>Ability to use kitchen utensils and appliances safely for preparation of snacks (can be trained).</li></ul> Preferred:<ul><li>Bi-lingual in English and Spanish</li><li>1-2 Years of experience working with infants/toddlers and their families</li><li>B.A./A.A. Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, or related field.</li><li>Minimum two years of experience working in a classroom.</li><li>Ability to use kitchen utensils and appliances safely and appropriately for preparation of snacks.</li><li>Previous Head Start experience</li><li>Knowledge of HS/EHS philosophy, goals, principles, objectives, requirements; cornerstones of Child Development Early Head Start policies and procedures, interviewing techniques, family dynamics, principles of adult learning, and advocacy/intervention concepts; crisis management and referral process; infant/toddler development stages and nurturing concepts; and development; and community resources and referral processes.</li></ul></div> </div><img height=1 width=1 border=0 src=https://ucla.contacthr.com/148472705.jpg />
