supervision of the Child Development Center Manager, is responsible for
planning and implementing individualized programs for infants, toddlers, and
preschoolers. Key duties include creating lesson plans, conducting child
development programs, and holding parent conferences. The role may involve
working in various classroom settings, including mobile classrooms. The Lead
Teacher 2 guides curriculum development ensures compliance with Title 22 State
Licensing, Title 5 Program Standards, and NAEYC Accreditation, and conducts
children's assessments using DRDP and other tools. The position requires
maintaining a safe, healthy environment and collaborating with parents and
staff to coordinate childcare programs. In emergencies, the Lead Teacher 2 will provide first aid as needed. This position in 100% in person, providing
direct services to children. Job location may vary within cities in the San

degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or related field, or
equivalent coursework (12 units) in Child Development or Early Childhood Education and apply for permit within 6 months of hire. Permits
must be issued by Child Development Permits issued by the California Commission
on Teacher Credentialing.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Pre-employment physical exam and TB clearance.
Pre-employment physical exam must state that the individual is physically able
to perform the duties in the Job Description.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Fingerprint screening, criminal record, and child abuse
index clearance, sex offender registry check.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">All Early Head Start staff must complete background checks
at least every five years that includes, sex offender registry check, State or
FBI criminal history check, including fingerprint check, child abuse and
neglect state registry check if available in the state of California.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Valid California Driver’s license and available
transportation.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Demonstrate competency to provide effective and nurturing
teacher-child interactions,</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to plan and implement learning experiences that
ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Knowledge of child development theory and practices.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Promote children’s progress across the standards described
in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five and
applicable state early learning and development standards, including for
children with disabilities and dual language learners, as appropriate. to employment.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to respectfully communicate effectively with
families, Head Start staff, consultants, other professionals, and volunteers to
support families in locating and accessing appropriate community services, as
needed.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to provide education and training opportunities to
families that promote positive relationship-building for all enrolled pregnant
women and infants and toddlers and their families. Ability to follow directions
given by supervisor(s) in a respectful manner.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to carry children, up to 40 pounds during each
workday when necessary.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to engage in frequent bending, reaching, twisting
and engage in moderate to frequent kneeling, crawling, and stooping while
performing classroom activities.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to engage in frequent writing, typing on keyboards,
and handling small objects (e.g. arts and crafts for children).</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time that
may exceed an hour at a time. This includes sitting on the floor for extended
periods (e.g. while engaging in child development activities during home visits

objectives, requirements; cornerstones of Child Development Early Head Start
policies and procedures, interviewing techniques, family dynamics, principles
of adult learning, and advocacy/intervention concepts; crisis management and
referral process; infant/toddler development stages and nurturing concepts; and
